Weekend Retreat (Tentative)

October 10, 2020 - October 11, 2020

We are pleased to announce our winter YMJJ retreat, led by a senior teacher. The retreat will run from Saturday October 10, 2019 8:00 AM-9:40 PM, and continue through Sunday, October 11, 2019, 8:00 AM -  1:00 PM. Vegetarian meals are provided at the retreat. Sleeping space is available at no extra charge at GLZC or members’ homes. Those planning on staying at GLZC should bring a sleeping bag, pillow and washcloth/towel. Heart Kyol Che Opening Ceremony

Kyol Che is a traditional Korean Zen retreat. The name means “tight dharma” or “coming together.” In Korea, it is the three-month winter and summer periods when monks and nuns do intensive sitting practice in the mountain temples. The Providence Zen Center holds two Kyol Che retreats annually, with students sitting up to three months in the winter and four weeks in the summer.
